Extensive experience in private practice, advising clients on the prosecution of patent applications before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPO). His main work includes: drafting patent applications, carrying out patentability and freedom-to-operate reports, replying to official actions issued by patent offices and preparing notices of opposition. Moreover, he has also worked as an in-house patent attorney thus gaining experience in designing global IP strategies, conducting IP due diligences and in the negotiation of license agreements.

Career
He holds a Degree in Biology from the University of Leon (1999-2003); including one year of research work in the Department of Physiology, in the field of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics. He also studied a MBA at ALITER International Business School (2005), an Advanced Course in Industrial and Intellectual Property at Instituto Empresa (2006) and an Advanced Business Development Course at Biotechnology Industry Organization (2014). He has worked as a patent attorney in different law firms (2005-2013) dealing with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical patents. He was the Intellectual Property Manager of a company (2013-2017) focused on the development and marketing of kits for the diagnosis of different types of cancer, which provided him with a special knowledge regarding the prosecution of patents in the diagnostic field.
