Bilingual Trainee Patent Attorney with a strong background in software, physics, bioengineering or similar, Madrid
We are a subsidiary of one of Europe’s best-regarded intellectual property specialists looking for a reliable bilingual trainee to join our team on a permanent basis. We are currently experiencing growth in the IT/engineering field and are looking to add a new member to the team. The work involves an exciting mix of universities, start-ups and established players in the field.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in software, physics, bioengineering or similar (essential Bachelor, Master’s in Science or Phd) to join the Madrid office, preferably with at least one year of experience in patents. The trainee will join the IT/engineering team and will assist in a variety of work including patentability opinions, drafting and prosecution of patent applications and Freedom-To-Operate searches. The work will relate to computer implemented inventions (CIIs), with emphasis on CIIs in the medical field, artificial intelligence and cryptography. The role may also involve work in the field of engineering. This is an excellent opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of different client types and projects, which will provide robust training. The candidate can expect to be hands-on with clients and will be involved from the start with client calls and direct contact with the inventors.
Excellent command of English and Spanish required.
We are looking for someone with a high attention to detail who is able to manage strict deadlines, with the ability to build relationships, as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
